Abstract

Non-uniform distribution of the parameters at the inlet of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) reactor affects SCR deNOx performance. A model including flow, mass transfer and reaction for the single-channel SCR catalyst was established. The single-channel deNOx performances at different operation conditions were obtained by simulation. On the basis of single-channel deNOx performance, the influence of the non-uniform distributions of inlet velocity and ammonia on the deNOx performance of multi-channel SCR catalyst was studied. The results showed that differentdistribution patterns of inlet velocity and ammonia have different impacts on the deNOx performance. The increase in relative distribution deviation reduces the deNOx efficiency and increases ammonia slip. The relative distribution deviation of inlet ammonia is the most important factor. The deNOx efficiency increases with the decrease in space velocity or increase in the ratio of ammonia to NOx, while the latter one also increases ammonia slip. A method was presented to determine the relative deviation limits of non-uniform inletvelocity and ammonia distributions, to ensure ultra-low NOx emission.
