Satisfaction and Influence Factors of Clinical Teaching Staff on Normalized Clinical Training Base of General Practitioners

Abstract

Objective To assess the satisfaction of clinical teaching staff on normalized clinical training base of general practitioners and discuss its influence factors.Methods From September to December,2015,a total of 235 teachers from all the six normalized clinical training bases of general practitioners in Yunnan Province were selected as research objects.Based on the detailed rules that had accreditation of general professional base of the Standards of Normalized Clinical Training Base of Resident Doctors(trial version),the author designed the questionnaire.The main contents included the basic situation of teachers′ status of participation in training,the selection system and social benefits provided by the bases for the teachers and satisfaction evaluation of the construction of training bases.The evaluation of teachers′ satisfaction of the construction of training bases included four dimensions:teaching facility,clinical skill training center,base management system and teaching management system.Multiple linear regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of teachers′ satisfaction of the construction of clinical training bases.Results A total of 225 valid questionnaires were collected,and the effective response rate was 95.7%.The overall satisfaction rate of teachers on the construction of clinical training bases was 19.1%(43/225),while that on the teaching facility,clinical skill training center,base management system and teaching management system was 20.4%(46/225),22.2%(50/225),22.7%(51/225),and 8.4%(19/225) respectively.There were significant differences in the scores of teachers′ satisfaction on the teaching facility among teachers of different age,professional title,teaching time of engaging in general practitioner training,whether participated in the training,whether participated in the management-related training,whether participated in the training related to general medicine,whether having teachers′ selection system and standard,whether having favorable policy on professional title promotion,whether providing teaching allowance and whether providing training opportunities that related to general medicine in the base(P<0.05);there were significant differences in the scores of teachers′ satisfaction on the teaching facility among teachers of different professional title,teaching time of engaging in general practitioner training,whether participated in the training,whether participated in the management-related training,and whether participated in the training related to general medicine(P<0.05);there were significant differences in the scores of teachers′ satisfaction on the clinical skill taining center among teachers of differen professional title,teaching time of engaging in general practitioner training,whether participated in the training,whether participated in the management-related training,whether participated in the training related to general medicine,whether having teachers′ selection system and standard,whether having favorable policy on professional title promotion,whether providing teaching allowance and whether providing training opportunities that related to general medicine in the base(P<0.05);there were significant differences in the scores of teachers′ satisfaction on the base management system among teachers of different age,teaching time of engaging in general practitioner training,whether participated in the training,whether participated in the training related to general medicine,whether having teachers′ selection system and standard,whether having favorable policy on professional title promotion,whether providing teaching allowance and whether providing training opportunities that related to general medicine in the base(P<0.05);there were significant differences in the scores of teachers′ satisfaction on the teaching management system among teachers whether participated in the training,whether participated in the management-related training,whether participated in the training related to general medicine,whether having teachers′ selection system and standard,whether having favorable policy on professional title promotion,whether providing teaching allowance and whether providing training opportunities that related to general medicine in the base(P<0.05).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the professional title,teaching time of engaging in the training and teaching of general practitioners,whether having teachers′ selection system and standard,whether having favorable policy on professional title promotion,and whether providing teaching allowance in their bases significantly influenced the scores of teachers′ satisfaction score the construction of clinical training bases(P<0.05);the professional title significantly influenced the scores of teachers′ satisfaction on the teaching facility(P<0.05);the professional title and whether having favorable policy on professional title promotion in the bases significantly influenced the scores of teachers′ satisfaction on the clinical skill training center(P<0.05);age,the teaching time of engaging in the training and teaching of general practitioners,whether having teachers′ selection system and standard,whether having favorable policy on professional title promotion in the bases significantly influenced the scores of teachers′ satisfaction on the base management system(P<0.05);whether having teachers′ selection system and standard,and whether having favorable policy on professional title promotion in the bases significantly influenced the scores of teachers′ satisfaction on the teaching management system(P<0.05).The regression equation of the satisfaction degree of teachers on the teaching facility(X11),the clinical skill training center(X12),base management system(X13) and the teaching management system(X14) to the overall satisfaction degree(Y) was Y=21.887+8.128X11+11.763X12+10.730X13+13.412X14.Conclusion The satisfaction of clinical teaching staff on the construction of standardized clinical training bases is rather low,especially their satisfaction teaching management system;their professional title,teaching time of engaging in general practitioner training,and whether having teachers′ selection system and standard,whether having favorable policy on professional title promotion in the bases are the influencing factors of the satisfaction degree of clinical teaching staff on the construction of clinical training bases.It is suggested to actively promote the normalization and completeness of the construction of clinical training bases in strict accordance with the relevant policy proposed by government.
