Abstract
Objective:To explore the relationship between serum liver enzyme level and metabolic syndrome in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods:A total 5828 cases of T2DM patients admitted in Qingdao Endocrine and Diabetes Hospital from 2005 to 2016 were analyzed retrospectively.Blood pressure, body height, body weight and waist circumference, serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT),aspartate transaminase (AST),gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT),total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and other index value were recorded. The enrolled patients were divided into metabolic syndrome group and normal group.General clinical data and liver enzyme level were compared between two groups and risk factors influencing metabolic syndrome were analyzed. The metabolic indexes were compared between normal liver enzyme group and abnormal liver enzyme group, and the correlation between liver enzyme and each component of metabolic syndrome was analyzed. Results:Compared with control group, metabolic syndrome group was markedly higher in serum ALT,AST,and GGT levels, and there were significant differences (P<0.05).GGT was in close association with risk increase of patients with T2DM complicated with metabolic syndrome (OR=3.154,95%CI=2.087~4.768),and with each component of metabolic syndrome (P<0.05).Conclusion:Patients with T2DM complicated with metabolic syndrome have a significant increase of liver enzyme level, and increase of GGT level is in the closest association with metabolic syndrome.关键词
