Removal of mercury using zeolite modified by metal halides
摘要
Abstract
To develop high performance price ratio sorbents or oxidants for coal-fired flue gas demercuration,this study investigated the demercuration efficiencies of metal halides-modified zeolites and their demercuration mechanism.The mercury removal efficiency decreases slightly when alkali metal halides are used to modify the zeolite,while the efficiency is quite high when transition metal halides are used.The mercury removal efficiency increases as the concentration of the modification solution increases.The modification decreases the specific surface area,pore volume,and adsorption capacity simultaneously.However,the functional groups enhance the oxidation and catalytic oxidation.Using transition metal halides-modified zeolite,more than 95% of Hg0 is oxidized or catalytically oxidized to mercury oxide,and only less than 5% of Hg0 is adsorbed physically.关键词
