Abstract

In order to solve the safe disposal protection problems of oil-base drilling cuttings in shale gas well,the method of solidification processing the oil-based drilling cuttings by using interfacial modifier and solidified materials was proposed and the combined effects of the following three factors (PC32.5 cement,fly ash and active reinforcing materials) on the solidification was studied.Simultaneously,the phase composition,microstructure,porosity and pore size distribution were charaterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscope (SEM) and mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP).The solidified mechanism was discussed.Results indicated that all the three factors had a remarkable linear effect on unconfined 14 days compressive strength of the solidified specimens.In addition,cement with fly ash and cement with active reinforcing materials had a remarkable reciprocal influence on unconfined 14 days compressive strength.The optimal mass ratio of curing agent CS was determined.The best formula was oil-base drilling cuttings + 20% CS + 2.2% KX.Guided by the optimum formula,the unconfined compressive strength of block could be 960 kPa after 7 days solidification,the contamination contents of leachate met the first grade standard of Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard (GB 8978-1996).The main hydration products in solidified oil-based drilling cuttings are C-S-H gel and a small amount of ettringite,which make the structure more compact and reduce the leaching of contaminants in the solidified body.
