Abstract
Objective To study the relationship between the autophagy related protein in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and intima-media thickness(IMT)of carotid artery in patients with hypertension.Methods Ninety-nine patients were selected as our subjects,who were divided into IMT increased group and control group.The expressions of Beclin-1 and LC3 mRNA of autophagy related genes in peripheral blood mononuclear cells were detected by RT-PCR and the expressions of relevant proteins were tested by Western blot.Results The expressions of gene Beclin-1 and LC3Ⅱ mRNA were(2.19±0.84)and(2.49±0.94)in IMT increased group,significantly higher than(1.00±0.37)and(1.02±0.44)in control group(P<0.01).Accordingly,the expressions of relevant proteins were(1.80±0.67)and(1.90±0.68)in IMT increased group,obviously higher than(1.07±0.32)and(0.91±0.23)in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The expressions of autophagy related genes and corresponding proteins in peripheral blood mononuclear cells are tremendously increased in hypertension patients with thickening IMT,and may contribute to the development of thickening IMT.关键词
