Abstract
Objective To explore maternal depression and analyze its influencing factors of nurses in the second pregnancy. Methods We randomly investigated 163 on-job nurses in the second pregnancy from 5 third-class comprehensive hospitals in Changsha, using Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), Chinese Nurse Job Stressors Questionnaire (CNJSQ), Fatigue Scale-14 (FS-14), and self-designed general information questionnaire. Results Maternal depression rate was 36.2% in this sample. Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that major factors associated with maternal depression included no time to look after their firstborn, conjugal relationship, family support, frequency of late-night shift, workload and allocation of time and physical fatigue ( P<0.001). Conclusions Depression is common among nurses during the second pregnancy and it is influenced by many factors. Therefore, it is important to provide psychological support and health guidance for them to promote the health of maternal and infant and medical security.关键词
