Abstract

In order to obtain accurate test data, the requirement of the soil pressure cell calibration is proposed. Through the modeling analysis of ANSYS, calibration device suitable for the soil pressure cell in laboratory is designed. The bearing plate is 32 cm in diameter and 2 cm in thickness, and the calibration barrel is 15 cm in height, 33 cm in inner diameter and 0. 5 cm in thickness. The results of the experimental study show that the correlation coefficients of R2 obtained by the least square method are all more than 0. 99 and the linearity is relatively strong; the values of K1 and K2 are very close when two earth pressure cells are in the same measuring range; the data have good repeatability and the device is applicable;the K1 value of calibration test for sand soil is more than the K2 value of factory calibration. It is necessary to conduct calibration test based on engineering practices prior to engineering application and the selected measurement range should not exceed 2/3 of the maximum range of the soil pressure cell.
