Structural Design and Parametric Analyses for a Rectangular Nozzle Based on Limit Load Method

Abstract
The structural design for the rectangular nozzle of a cyclone separator was conducted by using the limit load analysis method,and the results were compared with those obtained through the method of the elastic stress analysis method.Parametrical studies on factors affecting the limit load are conducted.The results indicate that compared with the elastic stress analysis method,the thickness of the rectangular nozzle can be significantly reduced by applying the limit load analysis method.The limit load of the structure increases with the increase of the fillet radius,and decreases with the increase of the aspect ratio.A higher limit load is found when the short edge of the rectangular nozzle is parallel to the cylinder axis.In addition,locations of the nozzle have little effect on the limit load of the structure.关键词
