Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of hydrogen sulfide on insulin resistance and its mechanism in mice with diabetes mellitus. Methods C57Bl6/J mice were randomly divided into normal control group, dia-betes mellitus group, low-dose therapy group, high-dose therapy group and positive control group. Diabetes mellitus models were established by high-fat diet and tetraoxypyrimidine. Caspase-3 activity, Bcl-2 and Bax expressions in adipose tissue were measured, as well as fasting plasma glucose, fasting serum insulin and hy-drogen sulfide in plasma. Then, insulin sensitivity index was calculated. Results Caspase-3 activity and Bax level were down-regulated, while Bcl2 was up-regulated in mice with diabetes mellitus, and all the indexes recovered after therapy with sodium hydrosulfide. Conclusions Hydrogen sulfide could alleviate insulin resis-tance by reducing the apoptosis of adipose cells.关键词
