Abstract
Objective To evaluate conventional ASSR and NB-CE-Chirp ASSR thresholds as objective hearing measures in children with severe and profound hearing loss by analyzing the correlation between behavioral auditory thresholds and ASSR thresholds using different stimulus. Methods Children with severe and profound sensorineural hearing loss were enrolled to receive conventional ASSR or NB-CE-chirp ASSR tests (n=30, 60 ears, in each group). Be-havioral auditory thresholds were compared with corresponding conventional ASSR or NB-CE-Chirp ASSR thresholds to determine threshold differences and correlations. Results Both NB-CE-Chirp ASSRs and conventional ASSRs were consistent with behavioral audiometry in evaluating hearing loss levels in these children with severe and profound hear-ing loss (91.67%and 83.33%, respectively). NB-CE-Chirp ASSRs revealed a smaller threshold difference, a better corre-lation and better reliability at 1, 2 and 4 kHz than conventional ASSRs (r=0.62, 0.53, 0.56 and 0.51, respectively). Con-clusions NB-CE-Chirp ASSRs generally produce more favorable evaluation outcomes in children with severe and pro-found hearing loss.关键词
