Tai Chi exercise improves gait performance and posture control in patients with mild/moderate Parkinson's disease
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of Tai Chi exercise on gait performance and posture control in persons with mild/moderate Parkinson's disease (PD).Methods Eighty patients with mild/moderate PD were randomly assigned to Tai Chi group or control group.Tai Chi exercise was performed for 16 weeks in Tai Chi group, while patients in control group kept their daily activities only. Results After 16 week-trial Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale Part Ⅲ score in Tai Chi group was significantly improved, the stride length and gait velocity were increased;and the coefficient of variability of stride length, sway area, sway path and the center of pressure velocity was reduced significantly, while no significant changes were observed in cadence. There were no significant changes of above indicators in control group. Conclusion Tai Chi exercise can significantly improve gait performance and posture control in patients with mild/moderate Parkinson's disease.关键词
