Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of Physalins on schistosomiasis.Methods ICR mice were randomly divided into eleven groups.We treated 1-day-old,14-day-old and 35-day-old Schistosoma japonicum infected mice with 60,30,15 mg/kg Physalins,respectively,with orally once a day for five consecutive days.The mice were sacrificed on the 49th day of post-infection.Observe the changes of the number of total worms,the number of female worms,body weight,spleen index and granuloma of different groups.Results:Administration of 15 mg/kg Physalins to the 1st day or administration of 60,30 and 15 mg/kg Physalins to the 35th day post-infected mice could significantly reduce the total worms and female worms compared with those in the control group (P ＜ 0.01).Physalins for 1-day-old Schistosoma japonicam infected mice could significantly improve the body weight and reduce the spleen index (P ＜ 0.01).In addition,administration of 60,30 and 15 mg/kg Physalins to the 1st day or administration of 15 mg/kg Physalins to the 35th day post-infected mice could significantly reduce the diameter of granuloma.Conclusion:Physalins has a therapeutic effect on early infectious schistosomiasis.关键词
