摘要

Abstract

Eddy-current system is an efficient vibration control system widely used in mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering.The new eddy-current tuned mass damper (EC-TMD),which combined the eddycurrent system with tuned mass damper,has still acted a limit role in civil engineering.The vibration control effects of EC-TMD were investigated by a series of shaking table tests of a five-story steel frame structure.The results indicated that the EC-TMD could significantly decrease the acceleration and displacement response of the structure as well as the maximum inter story drift.The results also declared that the control performance of the EC-TMD was affected by the type of the seismic input,the mass and the damping ratio of TMD.Compared with original TMD,the EC-TMD could suppress structural vibration in a shorter time with a smaller TMD amplitude.
