Progress of prophylactic measures in preventing mechanical complications of antibiotic-impregnated hip spacer implantation
摘要
Abstract
Periprosthetic joint infection occurs frequently after total hip replacement, and the antibiotic-impregnated hip spacers is the golden standard in treatment of hip joint infections, though accompanied by a series of complications . Among which, the spacer fractures and dislocations are the most commonly seen mechanical complications probably caused by several risk factors such as acetabular deficiency, fixation instability onto the proximal femur, peripheral soft tissues defect of joints and mismatched spacer geometry. Over the past two decades, many technical aspects as well as practical tips and pearls have been found to overcome the mechanical complications of hip spacer implantation to the minimum.关键词
