Abstract
Early modem Shanghai had experienced nearly 100 years of coexistence of local autonomy and colonial rule,traditional and Western culture,Chinese citizens and Western colonists.During this period,Shanghai had not only become a window of financial sector,foreign trade,and cultural exchanges,but also the center of entertainment industry.The time range of this study begins from the opening of shanghai in 1843,and ends at the establishment of P.R.China in 1949.Based on the study of the generation,development,and distribution of various types of entertainment spaces in the city,the authors try to trace the process of assembling,scattering,structuring,hierarchizing,and ultimately forming the overall structure of entertainment spaces.And through the analysis of this spatial process,the authors find the relationship between distribution and migration of entertainment spaces and various types of urban elements and reveal the internal driving force and the basic law in the structure of entertainment spaces in early modem shanghai.关键词
