Abstract
Maxillofacial and periodontal bone defect can be caused by multiple diseases. Bone tissue engineering is an effective method to repair bone defects in maxillofacial and periodontal area. To achieve this, ideal seed cells are essential. Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) have been demonstrated to possess several appealing qualities: convenient access to the collection site, low morbidity, high efficiency during extraction and culture, osteogenic differentiation potential, and high interactivity with scaffold materials. Hence DPSCs become an ideal seed cell for tissue-engineered bone. In this review, we will look into the applications of DPSCs in maxillofacial and periodontal tissue-engineered bone.关键词
