Numerical Analysis of the Textured Rough Mechanical Seal with Micro-Dimples

Abstract
The hydrodynamic lubrication model of textured rough mechanical seal with micro-dimples is developed to investigate the roughness and the geometrical parameters of micro-dimple on the lubrication properties. Results show that the effect of roughness and the interaction between neighboring dimples cannot be ignored in the numerical analysis of hydrodynamic lubrication of textured mechanical seals. There the optimal values of dimple depth and area density to maximize the hydrodynamic lubrication of mechanical seal.关键词
