Abstract

[Objective] Research on the impact of mining on ecosystem health in Changhe Basin.[Methods] This research carried out a case study on Changhe Basin of Jincheng City,which evaluated the ecosystem health by selecting 18 indexes from four aspects:physiographic condition,water resource situation,impact of mining and social ecological environment.Based on GIS and RS,the study area was divided into a total of 1 257 square grids with the length and width of 300 m.The paired comparisons and entropy methods were used to determine weight.[Results]The west of the Changhe basin was strongly influenced by the coal mining,and the ecosystem health status of the mining disturbed area was poor in which the area of disease and general morbidity accounted for 53.7% of the whole basin.The vegetation coverage of the hilly area in the east of Changhe river was high,and the ecosystem health status was good in which the area of health accounted for 14.6 % of the whole basin.The subhealthy areas were mainly distributed on both sides of the river,accounted for 31.7% of the entire basin.[Conclusion]Coal mining had a great impact on ecosystem health status of Changhe basin,and most of the research area was under the subhealthy level.The results could provide a reference for the comprehensive improvement of land in Changhe basin.
