Abstract
220 kV Diequan substation is the first substation in China planning to install shunt reactor at the high-voltage side of busbar to compensate capacitive reactive power. This paper assesses influence of this shunt reactor switching on the power system. It considers excitation characteristic of the shunt reactor and statistic feature of switching over-voltage, calculates voltage changes caused by shunt reactor switching and assesses voltage fluctuation within ranges of equipment and system tolerance. It respectively calculates switching transient states of installation and no installation of phase selection closing device including operational over-voltage and excitation surge current caused by shunt reactor switching. Simulation results indicate it is able to keep over-voltage in permissible range by controlling chopping current of the circuit breaker when cutting off the high-voltage reactor, and reduce excitation surge current to a reasonable range by using the phase selection closing device and formulating corresponding closing strategy.关键词
