基于传导模迁移的光子晶体光开关的设计
Design of photonic crystal optical switch based on dynamical shift of transmission mode

Abstract
A structure of Mach-Zehnder optical switch is proposed based on the characteristics of the photonic crystal waveguide transmission mode varying with the refractive indices change of the waveguide fringe dielectric rods.The optical transmission characteristic is controlled by adjusting the refiactive index of a waveguide fringe dielectric rod in the symmetric photonic crystal waveguide structure.The band diagram for guided mode ofphotonic crystal waveguide is calculated using the plane wave expansion method,when the refractive index of rods in waveguide fringe region is different from the refractive index of photonic crystal dielectric rods.According to the interference principle of light,the tunable region length L is calculated when the energy of light can't meet at output waveguide.When the refractive index of the tunable dielectric rod is 2.8,it is further concluded that the length L of the adjustable region is 8a corresponding to the normalized frequency 0.384.The device can realize the function of the switch.Finally,the transmission characteristic of the device is simulated using the finite-difference time-domain method.关键词
