Abstract

From 2015 to 2016, drying test was conducted on flue-cured tobacco varieties K326, Yunyan87, Yunyan85 using drying models Newton/Lewis, Henderson and Papis, Wang and Singh,Logarithmic and Page in Wutong village of Guiyang, Hunan moisture ratio during the curing process were fitted to drying models through regression analysis method and the change of moisture content in tobacco leaves and the drying rate were explored. Results showed that the moisture ratio of the middle leaves of different flue cured tobacco varieties in 2015 showed a decreasing trend during the curing process, and the water drying rate decreased with the decrease of dry basis moisture content; Wang and Singh model had better fitted the experimental data and could well describe the moisture ratio in different varieties during bulk curing process (R2 respectively were 0.9959, 0.9878, 0.9892 for varieties K326, Yunyan87, Yunyan85); the linear regression method was used to verify the model by compare measured values of moisture ratio for middle tobacco leaves in 2016 with Wang and Singh model predicted values, the result showed that Wang and Singh model has good validation results (linear regression R2 respectively were 0.9694, 0.9715, 0.9658). It can be seen that the Wang and Singh model has good validation results and can provide good description and prediction for the moisture ratio change in tobacco middle leaves during ordinary bulk curing process of different tobacco varieties in Guiyang, Hunan.
