平武红鸡的选育研究

Abstract
To improve the uniformity and purity,and exert a resource effect of Pingwu Red Chicken,three generations of phenotypic selection was performed.In this research,phenotypic selection was used in the alternative groups,all samples with unconfirmed plumage color,shank color and skin color were abandoned.Meanwhile,the reproductive performance,300-day body size and growth performance were determined.After three generations of phenotypic selection,the rate of unconfirmed samples fell from 31.38% in G0 to 1.55%,0.88% and 0.34% in G1,G2 and G3 generation,respectively,the uniformity improved significantly(P<0.05).In reproductive performance,egg fertilization rate of Pingwu Red Chicken increased from 81.1% to 91.23%;and the hatching rate increased significantly to over 85%.The average body weight of the cock was significantly higher than that of the hens since the 4th week (P<0.05),with no significant difference among 3 female groups (P>0.05).In short,after high strength breeding of 3 generations,the purity was improved significantly,which provided a basis for the further exploration and utilization of its dominant traits.关键词
