Abstract

The effects of willow (W) on pyrolysis characteristics of municipal solid waste (MSW) was investigated by means of thermogravimetric analysis and a fixed-bed reactor. The weight loss of samples, the activation energy of the samples, the yields of the pyrolysis products and the composition of pyrolysis gas were analysized. The results indicated that the most obvious weight loss temperature was 265~600 ℃ and the activation energy of MW (a mixture of M and W) was significantly lower than M, W and the theoretical value of MW, which indicated that a synergistic effect happened between M and W. When the pyrolysis temperature reached 600 ℃, the weight loss of M, W, MW were 61.41%, 57.81% and 70.31% respectively, and as the mixture ratio of MW was 4:1, the most significant gap of the pyrolysis products yield between the theoretical value and experimental value was reached. The composition analysis of the MW pyrolysis gas indicated that the yield of carbon dioxide decreased with the increased of W quality fraction, the methane and hydrogenthe yields increased with the increased of W quality fraction. When the mixtiure ratio of MW was 4:4, the yield of methane and hydrogenthe increased by 1.13 and 2.53 mL/g respectively and the yield of carbon dioxide decreased by 1.68 mL/g.
