Abstract

Lignocellulosic materials can be used for producing bioethanol leaving a large number of enzymatic hydrolysis lignin(EHL)in the remaining residue.As a natural phenolic compound,lignin can be used to partially replace petrochemical phenol to prepare phenol-formaldehyde resin.In the work,EHL was extracted from the residue of bioethanol production and activated with ultrasonic wave.Free phenolic group content was determined with FoLin-Ciocalteu method to evaluate the effect of ultrasonic activation.The ultrasonic activated EHL was used to replace phenol and synthesize lignin-phenol-formaldehyde(LPF)resin.The resin was characterized with Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FT-IR)and Differential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC),its properties were determined.The ultrasonic activation significantly improved the reaction activity of EHL and its phenolic group content was improved 38.60%.Even 60% phenol was replaced with the EHL,the bonding strength of LPF meet the national standard.
