Abstract
Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of natriuretic peptide levels in detection of paroxysmal AF/AT. Meth-ods 239 cardiac failure patients with hypertension or other cardiovascular risk factors were divided into paroxysmal AF/AT group and none-AF/AT group based on 7-day Holter monitoring for detecting AF/AT. NT-proBNP ( Natriuretic peptide) and BNP levels were measured before Holter monitoring. Results 18 patients were diagnosed paroxysmal AF/AT ( 7. 5%) . NT-proBNP and BNP levels were significant higher in paroxysmal AF/AT group than non-AF/AT group ( NT-proBNP :154.4 vs. 52.8pg/mL, BNP:70.0 vs. 43. 9 ng/L, P<0.05). For detection of AF/AT episodes, NT-proBNP and BNP had an area under the curve of 0.74(95%CI=0.59-0.90, P =0.004)and 0.75(95%CI=0.61-0.89, P =0.002). Conclusion NT-proBNP and BNP levels have diagnostic values for paroxys-mal AF/AT, which can predict the risk of AF/AT for cardiac failure patients. Thus, measuring natriuretic peptide level detecting for paroxysmal AF/AT may be a useful strategy in prevention of stroke or systemic embolism.关键词
