Frame Design for Point-shaped Map Symbol Based on Eye Movement Experiment

Abstract
Map symbol design is an important part of map design and the design for point-shaped map symbols has aroused widespread concern and discussion.Throughout current common web maps,especially the tourist webmap,different designs for point-shaped map symbols have much in common,such as similar size and type,and most of them are for representation symbols.However,frame designs have three different schemes,which are adding a unified flame to all symbols,adding different flames to different symbols and symbols without frames.With an eye movement experiment,the influence of the point-shaped map symbol flame design on user's map cognition is studied and the difference among the three schemes is presented,the further research on the frame design for point-shaped map symbol is discussed.关键词
