Abstract

Micro-pore type,pore distribution and structure characteristics of shale oil reservoirs of Shahejie Formation in the Dongying Sag,Bohai Bay Basin,were studied using a field-emission environmental scanning electron microscope,low-temperature nitrogen adsorption experiment and high-resolution quantitative analysis backscattered electron image.The results indicate that the matrix pores of the Shahejie Formation shale oil reservoir contain five types:inter-particle pores,intra-particle pores,intercrystal pores,dissolved pores and intra-crystal pores.Favorable reservoir spaces for shale oil reservoirs have porosity with diameter ranging from 100 to 3000 nm,and are dominated by inter-particle pores,intraparticle pores and dissolved pores.The pore shapes of mudstone and limestone contain thin neck bottle (inkwell) and parallel plate;dolomite has parallel-plate pore shape with the best connectivity.Dolomite has a high Quantitative Plane Porosity (QPP) and therefore has well-developed pore system,followed by mudstone,with limestone of low QPP.Main factors affecting micro-pore features include mineral compositions and contents,hydrocarbon discharge and hydrothermal process,among which clay mineral and clay-size particles are conductive to micro-pore development,while cementation and recrystallization of calcite are against pore development.Organic acid with hydrocarbon discharge and hydrothermal process is conductive to development of secondary pores.
