Study of cerebrovascular reactivity in migraine patients concomitant with patent foramen ovale
摘要
Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between patent foramen ovale(PFO) and migraine,and to stucly the difference in the cerebrovascular reactivity in migraine patients concomitant with PFO.Methods In order to analyze the differ ence in the cerebrovascular reactivity between PFO cases and non-PFO cases,the contrast transcranial Doppler (cTCD) and transcranial Doppler(TCD) were used to comparatively detect 62 migraine cases and 43 healthy volunteers from March 2013 to October 2013 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University.Results The positive rate of PFO in migraine group was significantly higher than that in control group(51.61％ vs 27.91％,P =0.015).Additionally,PFO-positive patients showed higher breath holding index(BHI) of the middle cerebral artery(MCA) in the migraine headache side than PFO-negative patients(0.82±0.58 vs 1.34±0.72,P=0.013).Conclusion There is a close relationship between migraine and PFO,and patients have a high co-morbidity rate.The cerebrovascular reactivity in migraine patients with PFO may be decreased in the headache side.关键词
