Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of enteral nutrition(EN) on short-term prognosis in acute stroke patients with dysphagia.Methods Totally 86 acute stroke cases with dysphagia were divided into study group and control group,43 cases in each group.The study group received enteral nutrition and the control group received traditional family feeding.Then patients' nutritional status,incidence of infection,and the national institute of health stroke scales(NIHSS) were compared in the two groups on the 21st day.Results On the 21st day,the nutritional parameters,such as serum albumin,prealbumin,haemoglobin,upper-arm muscular circumference in the study group,were better than those in the control group with statistical differences(P<0.05).The concurrent infection rate was 27.9 %in the study group and 53.5 % in the control group,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).In addition,the NIHSS scores in the experimental group (11.13±2.03) were significantly lower than those in the control group(15.35±2.76)(P<0.05).Conclusion For acute stroke patients with dysphagia,early enteral nutrition could improve the nutritional status,reduce the incidence of infection and improve the neurological deficit scores as well as the short-term prognosis.关键词
