Abstract
Objective To investigate effects and prognostic influencing factors of intensity modulated radiation treatment (IMRT) in primary treatment of young patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods Clinical data of 95 young patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma undergoing IMRT during January 2006 and December 2010 was retrospectively analyzed, and prognostic influencing factors were also analyzed. Results Median survival time of the 95 patients was 84.0 months, and 1,3,5-year survival rates were 98.9%,88.4% and 77.9% respectively;1,3,5-year rate of local recurrence-free survival (LRRFS) were 98.9%,96.8% and 91.6% respectively;1,3,5-year rate of distant failure free survival (DFFS) were 91.6%,82.1%and76.8% respectively;1,3,5-year rate of disease free survival (DFS) were 89.5%,81.1% and 74.7%.Prognosis was closely related to N stage,T stage and EB-VCA-IgA (P<0.05),but was not related to gender, primary tumor size, chemotherapy mode, hemoglobin and lactate dehydrogenase levels before treatment and smoking (P>0.05).N stage was risk independent prognostic factor (P<0.05),and EB-VCA-IgA was independent protective factor of prognosis (P<0.05).Conclusion IMRT in primary treatment of young patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma can achieve good effect and long-term survival time.关键词
