Abstract

Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase kinase-related kinase is a member of CDPK-SnRK superfamily.Little is known about its functions.By searching the transcriptome and genome databases,we have identified 25 PEPRK genes from Hevea brasliensis and five other plant species,including five members from H.brasliensis,which were named HbPEPRK1 to 5.Sequence analysis revealed that all PEPRK genes comprised one protein kinase domain.The plant PEPRK clustered into two major groups in phylogenetic tree,the members in the same group shared a similar introns and domains distribution.H.brasliensis PEPRKs were more closely related to PEPRKs of Manihot esculenta.The results of expression analysis indicated that HbPEPRK1 was mainly expressed in mature leaves,HbPEPRK2 and HbPEPRK5 were expressed in leaves,bark and latex,HbPEPRK4 was mainly expressed in seeds.In addition,the expression of H.brasliensis PEPRK genes was related to leaf development,ethephon stimulation,C.cassiicola infection and low temperature.
