Delaying Senescence of Harvested Ziziphus mauritiana Lamk Fruit by Postharvest 1-Methylcyclopropene(1-MCP) Treatment and Its Relation to Energy Metabolism

Abstract
The effects of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) treatment on the storage quality of the harvested Ziziphus mauritiana Lamk.cv.Zhongqing fruit were investigated,with regard to its relationship with the activity of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide kinase (NADK) activity,contents of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD),nicotinamide adenine diuncleotide hydrogen (NADH),nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP) and nicotinamide adenine diuncleotide phosphate hydrogen (NADPH),contents of adenosine triphosphate (ATP),adenosine diphosphate (ADP)and adenosine monophosphate (AMP),and energy charge (EC).The harvested fruits were treated with 1.8 μL/L 1-MCP for 12 h then stored at (15±1)℃.The cellular membrane permeability,contents of ATP,ADP and AMP,NADK activity and contents of NAD,NADH,NADP,NADPH were determined regularly during the storage,while fruit quality was evaluated on the first and the last day of storage.The results showed that 1-MCP treatment could maintain higher activity of NADK,lower the content of NAD and NADH,increase the content of NADP and NADPH,delay the decrease of ATP content and energy charge,and retard the increase of cellular membrane permeability during storage;In addition,it could also keep higher firmness,contents of vitamin C,total soluble solids (TSS) and titratable acid (TA) in fruits,retard the decrease of chlorophyll content in pericarp and decrease fruit decay.Therefore,it could be concluded that 1-MCP treatment could maintaine the quality and delay the senescence of harvested Ziziphus mauritiana fruit due to higher retained cellular energy charge.关键词
