摘要

Abstract

Gold exploration work in the deep Liaoshang area has achieved great breakthrough. By analyzing the orebody formation regularity and the ore characteristics, the Liaoshang type deposit, a new type of gold deposit, i.e., the tectonic-controlled pyrite-carbonate veined gold deposit, was discovered in this area. Hosted in the NE-trending shattered altered-rock zone, the orebodies are characterized by large thickness and high grade. The host rocks i.e., granites of the Paleoproterozoic Jingshan Group and the Mesozoic granites, experienced intense metasomatic alteration resulting from the tectonic-activity-led fracturing. The pyrite and carbonate minerals are the gold-bearing carriers which have filled and mineralized the tension fissures as veins or micro veins. The definition of the new type of deposit will be benefitial to gold exploration in east Jiaodong Peninsula.
