Application and Research Progress of EpCAM in Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Abstract
Epithelial ovarian cancer is the most common gynecologic malignant tumor. It is difficult to diagnose early because of occult symptoms and the lack of effective screening tools. Recent studies have shown that epithelial cell adhesion molecules (EpCAM) can be used as biomarkers for early detection and prognosis of ovarian cancer. EpCAM is the first human tumor specific antigen recognized by monoclonal antibodies, high expression in epithelial ovarian cancer. EpCAM regulates the integrity of epithelial cells, mediates the adhesion and migration of ovarian cancer cells, and plays an important role in the invasion of ovarian cancer cells, and the expression of EpCAM is closely related to the prognosis of ovarian cancer patients. Currently, as a kind of important tumor marker, EpCAM has become a new target for immune therapy of ovarian tumor and an important index to evaluate the prognosis of patients with ovarian cancer. The high expression of EpCAM in epithelial ovarian cancer is of great significance for the treatment and prognosis of tumors. This article will review the application and research progress of EpCAM in epithelial ovarian cancer.关键词
