Abstract

With the fully-mechanized sublevel caving face with thin bedrock in Sima Coal Mine of Lu'an Group as the engineering background,through field measurement,numerical simulation,and theoretical analysis,the relationship between support and surrounding rock of fully-mechanized sublevel caving face with thin bedrock was studied,the relationship between working resistance of support and roof convergence was obtained in fully-mechanized sublevel caving face with thin bedrock,and the reasonable calculation method of working resistance of support was given.The research results have indicated that the affected area of abutment pressure under thin bedrock of overburden is far lower than that under thick bedrock;the relationship between working resistance of support and roof convergence is still qualified for the hyperbolic relations;in addition,the "cushioning effect" in the top coal reduces under high confining pressure,and the top coal shows the characteristics of "like a rigid body";thus,the pressure of main roof under "given deformation" condition could be effectively transmitted to the shield,improving its working resistance.The results have reasonably explained the phenomenon of intensive pressure behavior and that shield working resistance for thin bedrock overburden was higher than those of thick bedrock,thus provide a reference for the reasonable selection of support in fully-mechanized sublevel caving face with thin bedrock.
