Abstract
Objective:To study the clinical efficacy of single-visit root canal therapy for infected root canals by using WaveOne and Mtwo nickel-titanium instruments.Method:A total of 82 infected root canals from 70 patients were divided into WaveOne group(n=42)and Mtwo group(n=40)randomly.All root canals underwent canal filling immediately after completing the root canal preparation.Samples were taken before and after root canal preparation that the number of anaerobic colonies was recorded after inoculation.The time of root canal therapy and the condition of acute pain were recorded.Results:The numbers of anaerobic colonies in two groups were significantly decreased after completing the root canal preparation,and the number of Mtwo group decreased more.The time of root canal therapy in WaveOne group was significantly less than Mtwo group.Acute pain of Mtwo group was more serious at 24 hours postoperatively,but the two groups of patients with tooth pain were improved and no significant difference after one week.Conclusion:WaveOne and Mtwo nickel-titanium instruments have good clinical results of one-visit endodontic therapy for infected root canals.However,clinicians need to pay attention to the different features of the two nickel-titanium instruments.关键词
