Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of two kinds of surgeries for pterygium.Methods 138 patients (138 eyes) were randomly divided into two groups-group A (67 eyes) received pterygium resection combined with conjunctival flap transplantation, and group B (71 eyes) received pterygium resection combined with autologous limbal stem cell conjunctival transplantation.Subjective symptoms, duration of corneal swelling, cornea recovery time, Schirmer I test (SIt), tear break-up time (BUT) were compared between the two groups.Results 24 hours after surgery, subjective symptoms were significantly different between the 2 groups.But this difference disappeared at 48 hours and 1 week.There were no differences in duration of corneal swelling or BUT.However, cornea recovery time was significantly smaller in group B (2.8±0.8 days) than in group A (3.7±1.0 days).Sit increased in both groups and was significantly longer in group B.Recurrence in 12 months was significantly more common in group A (14.9%) than in group B (2.8%).Conclusions Compared with pterygium resection combined with conjunctival flap transplantation, autologous limbal stem cell conjunctival transplantation resulted in faster cornea recovery and low recurrence rate.关键词
