On Taiyang Chaihu Syndrome and Chaihu Decoction Method
摘要
Abstract
Xiaochaihu decoction is called "the formula for shaoyang pivot,and the general one for harmoning the interion and the exterior",and its use is only secondary to the Guizhi decoction ,"the leader of Jing for-mula" in the taiyang disease entries in Treaties on Cold Damage. It could be applied for the taiyang disease and its varied syndrome with obvious effect ,and therefore known as the major formula for taiyang disease and its varied syndrome. SUN Simiao summarized Chaihu decoction for taiyang disease as the fourth method in the seven methods for taiyang disease in Treatise on Cold Damage. According to ZHANG Zhongjing's paradigm,"cold damage and wind strike could be treated with Chaihu decoction",combination of disease and syndrome,and disease governing syndromes,the concept of Taiyang Chaihu syndrome is proposed as follows:Xiaochaihu decoction is the leading formula for reliving the exterior and clearing the interior ,rather than on-ly "harmonizing shaoyang". This conclusion could provide a theoretical basis to explain using Xiaochaihu decoction for taiyang disease and its advantage for treating feverish disease due to external contraction.关键词
