Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of multi-level ProDisc-C artificial cervical disc replacement.Methods Patients who underwent multi-level ProDisc-C artificial cervical disc replacement between Oct 2010 and Oct 2011 were retrospectively analyzed,clinical and radiologic data were collected.The visual analogue score (VAS),Japan Orthopedic Association (JOA) score and neck disability index (NDI) were used to evaluate the clinical effect after surgery;the overall range of motion (ROM) and operative segmental ROM were measured,postoperative prosthesis position,cervical curvature,heterotopic ossification and swallowing function were evaluated.Results 21 patients whounderwent multilevel ProDisc-C artificial cervical disc replacement were included,13 male patients and 8 female patients,20 cases were operated double-level replacement,and 1 patients underwent three-level replacement.Postoperative clinical symptoms were significantly improved,JOA,NDI,VAS scores were significantly improved compared with preoperative,P＜0.05.3 months postoperative overall ROM and operative segmental ROM decreased slightly compared with the preoperative,P＜0.05,and subsequent overall ROM and operative segmental ROM showed no significant difference compared with the preoperative,P＞0.05.Complications such as prosthesis material allergy,artificial disc prosthesis displacement and prolapse,operative segment hypermobility,postoperative cervical lordosis straight,and postoperative reverse arch were not observed.Conclusion Multilevel ProDisc-C artificial cervical disc replacement may be a safe and effective option for the treatment of cervical spondylosis.It can effectively relief the clinical symptoms,retain the overall ROM and segmental ROM,maintain the cervical curvature,without complications of artificial disc prosthesis displacement and prolapse,operative segment hypermobility and postoperative reverse arch.关键词
