Abstract

The high frequency transformer (HFT) in dual-active-bridge (DAB) DC-DC converter plays a crucial role in energy router, which bears the functions of galvanic isolation, voltage conversion and bi-directional power flow capability. It is very important to extract the leakage inductance of HFT accurately. However, the results measured by traditional transformer tests fail to match the actual working waveforms of HFT in DAB. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel leakage inductance extraction method based on the phase shift control of DAB. With the method, the experiments under different conditions are implemented on a DAB platform to extract the HFT leakage inductance. The experimental results have verified the proposed method. In addition, the impacts of working frequency, input voltage and phase shift ratio of DAB on the HFT leakage inductance are studied.
