Abstract
Resveratrol, a polyphenol compound, is widespread in multiple plants such as grapes and peanuts.Resveratrol has a wide range of physiological activities including anti-oxidative, anti-cancer and anti-aging functions.In recent years, there has been increasing attention in the functions of resveratrol on the muscle fiber type transition.Resveratrol is a positive regulator of skeletal muscle fiber type transtition, and many researches have indicated that it promotes the expression of slow-oxidative muscle genes, therefore, improves meat quality of livestock.The focus of this review was to summarize the effects of resveratrol in skeletal muscle fiber type transtition and its potential regulation mechanism, so as to provide references for livestock production.关键词
