摘要

Abstract

Objective:The aim of the study was to compare the effect of different bioactive element containing toothpastes(Pro-ArginTM,GC Tooth Mousse and NovaMin?)on demineralization/remineralization of enamel.Methods:Creating the artificial incipient carious lesion model,after 15 days pH-cycling and acid resistance testing,surface hardness of the samples was assessed using the Knoop hardness test at different time points.Data were analyzed using SPSS software 17.0.Results:After pH-cycling,the surface hardness values in treatment groups were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.001).After acid resistance testing,all groups showed a significant loss of surface hardness(P<0.05),the decrease in treatment groups were significantly lower than the control group.No significant difference was found in surface hardness between Pro-ArginTM and NovaMin? group during the pH-cycling test and acid resistance test.Conclusion:The three toothpastes showed remineralization potential,Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief and NovaMin present an advantage in enhancing remineralization and inhibition demineralization for early enamel carious lesions in comparison with GC Tooth Mousse.
