Abstract
Objective To estimate the feasibility of local nerve block anesthesia for tension-free inguinal hernia repair.Methods 120 patients with inguinal hernia hospitalized during the period from Jan.,2014 to June,2016 were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups:local anesthesia group and epidural block group,60 in each;all the patients in both groups received tension-free inguinal hernia repair;a comparative study was made in the time length of operation,postoperative pain and postoperative complications between the 2 groups.Results The time length of operation in local anesthesia group was shorter than that in epidural block group [(116.5±17.5) rain vs (138.2±25.7) min,P＜0.05];the VAS scores in local anesthesia group was much lower than those in epidural block group [(2.22 ± 0.79) vs (3.65 ± 0.60),P ＜ 0.05];the occurrence of urinary retention,scrotal hydrocele and other postoperative complications in local anesthesia group was lower than that in epidural block group.Conclusions Local nerve block anesthesia for tension-free inguinal hernia repair can shorten the time of operation,alleviate pain,decrease the occurrence of postoperative complications and provide higher safety,it is worthy of wider application.关键词
