Isolation and Identification of Chemical Constituents with Anti-inflammatory Activity from the Roots of Ficus hirta Vahl.

Abstract
To investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of the roots of Ficus hirta Vahl.5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) inhibitory activity was selected as the evaluation index.Six compounds were separated from this material by 5-zlipoxygenase inhibitory activity-guided isolation.Their structures were identified as lupeol palmitate (1),β-amyrin acetate (2),psoralen (3),apigenin (4),azelaic acid (5),daucosterol (6) on the basis of NMR spectroscopic analyses.Compound 5 and 1 exhibited strong in vitro inhibitory activity on 5-LOX with IC50 values 13.74 μg/mL and 13.96 μg/mL,respectively.Compound 1 was reported for the first time from F.hirta roots.The results may provide theoretical supports for the anti-inflammatory effect and clinical application of F.hirta roots.关键词
