Abstract
Objective: To evaluate levels and prevalence of anxiety and depression in patients with thyroid cancer,and to explore the effectiveness of personalization comfort care in operating room on patients undergoing thyroid surgery.Methods: Three hundred and twenty-six patients awaiting thyroid surgery were recruited,and they were randomly divided into two groups.The control group was given the routine care,while the intervention group was given the personalization comfort care in operating room.Anxiety levels and depression levels were assessed by questionnaires on admission,pre-operation,post-operation.The blood pressure,heart rate and sleep status were closely monitored.Results: On admission,patients with thyroid cancer had some level of anxiety and depression,the anxiety prevalence was 81.9%,mainly mild anxiety,and the depression prevalence was 71.8%,mainly mild depression.Compared with the status on admission,the levels of anxiety and depression pre-operation was significantly increased,and the control group had higher anxiety level than that of the intervention group (t=-4.643,P<0.001).The blood pressure and heart rate of the intervention group of pre-operation and post-operation were significant lower than those of the control group.Both groups had changes in blood pressure and heart rate before the surgery,and the percentage of elevated blood pressure and increased heart rate of the intervention group were lower than those of the control group (elevated blood pressure: 47.9% vs.76.7%;increased heart rate: 22.1% vs.33.7%).The percentage of insomnia of the control group was significantly higher than that of the intervention group.Conclusion: Patients with thyroid cancer have a high level of anxiety and depression.The application of personalization comfort care in operating room is helpful to reduce the anxiety level of patients and to improve the treatment effect.关键词
