摘要

Abstract

The paper aimed to study the composition and diversity of the microbiota in the fecal samples of the red kangaroo using the MiSeq sequencing.Twelve red kangroo with health status and good nutrition status were randomly divided into three groups and fed with 3 diets for 21 days.Diet 1 was low juicy and concentrate (A),diet 2 was medium juicy and concebtrate (B),diet 3 was high juicy and concentrate (C).The feces were collected for the analysis of microbiota.The results showed that the quantity of OTUs of fecal bacteria for each group was similar,and the species of bacteria among each groups of fecal samples did not change significantly (P>0.05).At the phylum level,the relative abundance of Firmicutes and Bacteroides was not significant (P>0.05) among three groups.At the genus level,uncultured Ruminococcaceae and uncultured Prevotellaceae were the dominant species,and uncultured Ruminococcaceae in group A was significantly higher than the other two groups (P<0.05),while uncultured Prevotellaceae was significantly lower than the other two groups (P<0.05).The results suggested that different dietary patterns had no significant effects on the fecal microbiota of red kangaroo.Similar to other mammalian herbivores,red kangaroo has a microbial profile with high diversity,and Firmicutes and Bacteroides are the dominant bacteria at the phylum level.
