Artificial Injection of Spawning Inducing Hormones Influences Ovarian Development in Cynoglossus semilaevis

Abstract
The effect of artificial injection of spawning inducing hormones on ovarian morphology and development in Cynoglossus semilaevis is investigated by using morphological parameter measurement and ovary histological sectioning techniques.The results show that the ovary develops significantly faster after hormone injection, GSI increases rapidly and HSI decreases continuously with the development of ovary.The highest value of CF appears at 48 hours after injection (HAI).Histological examination shows that hormone can accelerate the development of ovary to the next stage.For instance, ovary at stage Ⅳ reaches stage Ⅴ of maturity at 36 HAI and then to stage Ⅵ at 60 HAI.Hormone injection can shorten the spawning cycle of broodstock and increase the number of mature eggs, and can facilitate mass production of mature eggs in artificial breeding of C.semilaevis.Result of this study can provide a theoretical basis for the selection of efficient spawning inducing methods in artificial propagation of C.semilaevis.关键词
