Abstract
With the rapid development of microelectronics technology, handheld (palm)ultrasound devices emerged as the really require, which have broad application prospects in the field of medicine and healthcare. The handheld ultrasound means a medical ultrasound device with only one hand size, which is very convenient to take and use, including an ultrasound probe and an imaging system. It has some particular characters, e.g. small size, light weight and low power dissipation. Based on wireless image transmission technology, remote intelligent diagnosis is possible for doctors by using this handheld ultrasound device. As soon as the handheld ultrasound with low costs and good performances is published, it receives the attention and the welcome from the primary doctors and clinicians. So, it accelerated the development of ultrasonic clinical visualization. In this paper, according to the development stage of "past", "present" and "future" of handheld ultrasound devices, it is elucidated that the status and roles of handheld ultrasound devices in "clinical visualization", "hierarchical medical system" and "Healthy China".关键词
