Abstract
In this study,the advantages and disadvantages of cotton pulp and mercerized pulp in preparation of zinc-silver battery separator paper were discussed.The properties of nylon fiber,vinylon fiber and polypropylene fiber when they separately mixed with cotton pulp in certain ratio to prepare separator paper were studied.Furtherly the effects of the polypropylene fiber's ratio,the drying process on the properties of the separator paper used in the zinc-silver battery were investigated.The results indicated that cotton pulp in lower beating degree had higher alkali absorption rate compared with the mercerized pulp in the same beating degree;polyvinyl alcohol fiber showed better stability in potassium hydroxide solution,especially dimensional stabihty.Polypropylene had ideal resistance to alkali corrosion thus resulting greater alkali stability of the resultant separator paper.The separator paper used in zinc-silver battery with good properties could be prepared by using cotton pulp and certain amounts of vinylon and polypropylene fibers.关键词
